View of Kim Tian Green(U/C) from Tiong Bahru Market
The new HDB blocks at Kim Tian Road were built to house residents who were affected by SERS from 16 blocks in the Kampong Bahru, Silat Road and Henderson Road areas.

The residents were given the choice of naming the new area:
- 42 per cent chose "Kim Tian Green" as their preferred precinct name
- "Kim Tian Towers" 35 per cent
- "Kim Tian Heights" 22 per cent
